Jyotsna Vaidee is an award winning Bharatanatyam choreographer, dancer and the founder of Samudra Dance Creations. Samudra seeks to represent and empower the Indian diaspora and the general public through traditional and original choreography. Samudra has performed at the San Francisco Arts Festival, PushDanceFest and Ragamala Music Society of Canada. Jyotsna has created several original productions: The Quest Unsaid, The Caged Birds Sings and Kaavyam: Poetry in Motion, and most recently, The Earth Speaks, which was nominated for an Isadora Duncan Dance Award. In addition Jyotsna is an established Bharatanatyam soloist receiving critical acclaim performing regularly at India’s (Chennai) December dance and music season.
