Rachael is an Oakland-based dancer, choreographer, and urban designer. With a background in performance and environmental design, Rachael Sharkland delights in the entanglement of somatic, ecological, and social being. Her recent practice examines our embodied response to vulnerability and power and her work has been featured at various festivals and venues in the Bay area including CounterPulse, Fort Mason, The Exploratorium, Joe Goode Annex, Southern Exposure Gallery, ZSpace, and Pro Arts Gallery. Rachael is currently studying to become a somatic therapist and offers workshops that focus on intuitive and explorative movement.
